Photos with meanings

Today I was looking at pictures my teacher gave me.
Here are the pictures my teacher gave me.

1.

This photo shows a film is nothing like a movie.
I think this because the book is more colour and bigger and the film has no colour and is small plus the iceberg growing at the bottom has more ice than the top.

2.

This photo shows leadership because the red man in the middle is telling the group to do a good job and the group are holding each others back also the group on the outside is a different than the inside.

3.

This photo shows a thousand memories because when you take pictures, it is a time to remember and you put it in your album because in your life you always want to remember something and you always want to remember something special.

4. My own picture.

Don't stop believing and go for it because a whole new life under water might be amazing and plus cats do not like water so he is going for it.

Apostrophes

Today I will be answering questions about apostrophes because we learnt when to use it yesterday.

- What are the 2 times to use an apostrophe?

Contraction and possession.

- When should you use an apostrophe of possession?

You use a contraction when something means something like you are equals you're.
You use the apostrophe of possession when something belongs to someone.

- 3 examples of where an apostrophe go in a sentence.

  1. Oh no you're going to be late for school.
  2. Trey that is Jeremy's watch.
  3. I've stolen Oliver's car.

- When should you NOT use an apostrophe of possession?

When you come to a random S you don't just randomly put an apostrophe before the S.
(eg. is not i's unless you are talking about the letter I.)

- When should you use an apostrophe of contraction?

You use an apostrophe of contraction when you come to a word like:
I have you can turn this to I've and we are you can turn this to we're.

- Why do we use apostrophe of contractions?

To shorten long words.

- Where does the apostrophe of contraction go in a contracted word?

Term 1 Week 6 Homework.

Hello, today one of the tasks were to make a video how to do the box method and estimate. The box method is when you have a box split into quarters. Now you would normally have a times equation to put beside or above the box so you split the numbers in place value and you write the number beside or above a square. Then you times each equation to get the answer for each box. Then you make an algorithm and you add up all the answers in the box and you will get your answer.

Just to help here is a video I have made.
Enjoy!

Homophones

Today my topic is homophones.

Your and you're are homophones. Why are they homophones?
A homophone is two or more words that can be pronounced the same as another word but spelt differently.

So when should we use your and you're?
Well you're means you are so you would use this like you're amazing at soccer. You mainly use you're when you are talking about a person.
Your is when you are mainly talking about an object like your clock is broken. To help you can replace your into my just to check.

Three example sentences about my life using you're.

You're going to school today don't be late.
Wow Aunty you're beautiful.
You're going to his house in the weekend, can I come too?

Two example sentences using your and you're.

Your drink bottle is leaking, You're going to pick it up aren't you?
I wish I had a house like yours because it is amazing.

Camp advice

Last week we went to camp and it was so fun and I really enjoyed myself but I have some advice for the next people to go to camp.

  • Do everything at camp because you will regret it if you don't do it.
  • If you are afraid of hights still try it because it is really cool if someone overcomes their fear even if it's getting to the top of ladder.
  • If you are not doing paintball still bring your notice because you might change your mind.
  • Try not to drop a paint ball because you will get hit by one.
  • Do not scream when you are doing the overnight stay.
  • Don't be noisy at night.
  • Wash your hand before the bell goes so you can get your food first.
