Bivouac Shelter

In a few days time our class is going to camp and one of the nights we have to make a bivouac.

Teachers Questions:
How long does it take to set up this? It takes around 5 minutes to build.
What does the word bivouac mean? A quick shelter that soldiers, scouts or mountain climbers use.
What direction should the bivouac be facing? The bivouac should be Facing the wind

My Questions:
How far away does the bivouac have to be away from the fire?
What material do you have to use for a bivouac? sheeting or plywood, to groundsheets or
purpose made hoochies (bashas).

How brush your teeth in space

Equipment:
You will need...

• A toothbrush
• Toothpaste
• Water in a squeeze bottle.

1. Firstly you wet your toothbrush and make sure the bubble does not go floating around the room and not too much on you toothpaste.
2. Suck a little bit of the water out from the tooth brush.
3. Pour the toothpaste on the tooth brush carefully.
4. Brush you teeth for awhile.
5. After brushing your teeth swallow your toothpaste that's in your mouth.
6. Suck the water in the bottle and swallow it.

And that's how you brush your teeth in space.

Should New Zealand get a new flag?

Today I was reading http://www.kiwikidsnews.co.nz/ and I looked through and I found article that was published on February 11, 2014 that John Key might be changing the New Zealand flag. Now I don't think that we should have a new flag because we had this flag for years and it will make the flag people annoyed. But John Key thinks it has the Union Jack which brings part of England but we are in the pacific. If this has been me I would keep the flag the same.

How to be me in the morning.

Hi Today I am going to give you instructions how to be me in the morning. Now the one on you left is me organized and the one on your right is me unorganized.

1. When your alarm clock goes off turn it completely turn it off.
2. Sleep in.
3.Wake up now
4. Get dressed
5.Put deodorant on and comb hair
    kitchen.      
7. Make lunch for school.                    
8. Eat breakfast ( I usually have toast).  
9.Put your lunch box away and fill your
  drink bottle and put it away.                  
10. Put laptop in your bag and walk out  
      the door.

How I feel today.

Today I am drawing a picture of how I feel today. Here is my picture.

I drew this pict because today I am feeling muggy because we had lots of rain and sunshine. Also I feel stuffy and tired.

I am 31%  Lion, 19% Beaver, 25% Golden Retriever and 25% Otter.
I sort of agree with this because and am a bit of a Lion but I would actually say I am a Golden Retriever.
I can take charge and be the leader, I will make sure everyone will have a turn, everyone can listen to me. A weakness of my animal is I won't really have a leader and I think it would be selfish for myself.
One of my sisters would be an otter and my other sister would be a beaver. My father would be the Lion and my mother would be a Lion as well. Also one of my friends would be a otter.
I think this is a useful test because you can find a bit more about yourself.

Waitangi Day

The people are holding this banner because they are celebrating the Treaty of Waitangi.

The treaty of waitangi was signed because other countries wanted to move to New Zealand and when Captain James Cook came he decided to make a treaty to make this a free country with the Maori's. In 1840 on the 6th of February the treaty was about to be signed in the bay of islands. 40 Maori chefs came and 500 Maori's including 15 came as well to sign the treaty. But only 33 Maoris only signed the treaty. So every year on the 6th of February New Zealand celebrate the Treaty of Waitangi in different cities but they do a special celebration in Waitangi treaty grounds. So just remember on the 6th of February a day that we share this land with the Maori's and we become one.
